Global Switch appoints Managing Director in Paris
Global Switch, the leading owner and operator of wholesale, multi-tenanted, carrier-neutral data centres in Europe and Asia-Pacific, has announced a new senior appointment for its Paris data centre.
Ralph Montandon has been appointed as Managing Director, Paris. Ralph has around 30 years' experience working in the data centre and information technology sectors for a diverse range of companies. Prior to joining Global Switch, he was President of Microsens (a developer, manufacturer and seller of world-wide active components for fibre optic networks into data centres) and General Manager of Emerson Network Power (a global company delivering solutions to protect and optimise critical data centre infrastructure) where he led the restructuring of the company and was responsible for sales and services of data centre infrastructure solutions.
Global Switch Paris is the city's largest data centre campus with in excess of 50,000 sq m of space and 48MW of diverse power coming from two separate incoming supplies. The campus, which has been designed and built for maximum security and resiliency, includes Paris West which has one of the largest technical floor plates in France and incorporates some of the latest environmental design features (including reconfigurable power and cooling distribution, variable speed motors and fresh air cooling systems). Ralph will oversee all aspects of the campus from sales through to operations.
