Infrastructure
At Global Switch not only do we have robust
and resilient infrastructure we also have state of the art
monitoring systems giving customers complete confidence.
Global Switch data centres operate to a Tier III standard
or higher. We continually invest in our infrastructure across all
centres to ensure that we are running the most efficient and up to
date systems for our customers.
Monitoring the environment and performance of our data centres
is a key aspect of the services we provide.
Our entire critical infrastructure is managed and monitored
using highly sophisticated Building Management Systems which enable
our on-site facilities management team to scrutinize all key
components - from power and cooling to security and access.
These processes are there to identify any discrepancies in the
power, environmental or security performance of our data centres.
This monitoring is backed up by 24x7 security and mechanical and
electrical support teams.
Power
Global Switch data centres operate to a Tier III standard
or higher. The power infrastructure is designed to ensure robust
resilience with "no break" IT power. We constantly invest in power
capacity and adopt a policy of pass-through electricity costs based
upon consumption only.
Cooling
In all our data centres, customer equipment
is protected in a well-managed, highly resilient environment with
primary cooling infrastructure designed to N+1 and linked into
Building Management Systems. We are experts in creating
environments that maximise cooling efficiency and will work with
you to optimise equipment lay-out, balance critical airflows and
deliver constant temperatures and humidity.
Security
Through a combination of fit-for-purpose
design, rigorous operational procedures and robust building fabric
Global Switch ensures that security is not compromised at any
time. Customers benefit from the knowledge there are
sophisticated alarm systems, closed circuit TV surveillance
and 24x7 on-site security through to advance warning
communications from government and cyber organisations as well as
rigid monitoring and maintenance.
