Sam joined Global Switch as the Managing Director of Singapore in 2017.
Sam has built up a wide range of experience over the past 19 years in corporate real estate and asset management. He is hugely experienced within the Singapore market having been based there since 2004. Sam was previously the Director of Asset Management at a leading data centre provider in Singapore, where he was directly responsible for growing their Asia-Pacific portfolio of data centres including developing business strategies on growth opportunities and coordinating long-term plans with global customers to facilitate expansion.
Sam holds both a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Sociology and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Chicago.
Responsibilities at Global Switch
Currently, Sam is responsible for managing Global Switch Tai Seng, one of Asia-Pacific’s best connected buildings, and the only data centre in the region with direct access to multiple major international cable systems.
Sam is also overseeing the development of Global Switch's second data centre in Singapore, a Tier III+ facility located in Woodlands, to the north of the island. The new data centre, which is planned to launch in 2018, will span 25,000 sq m and will provide multiple connectivity options to Tai Seng’s dense ecosystem.
