Jens joined Global Switch as Managing Director, Frankfurt in 2023 with around 30 years’ experience across the ICT and data centre sectors.
Prior to joining Global Switch, Jens was Managing Director for a German carrier neutral solution provider, where his key responsibilities include improving financial performance, business development, business operations, colocation and edge data centre expansion as well as organisational transformation and restructuring. Before this, he was SVP Network Services Europe at NTT where he was responsible for the full IT stack which included network services, data centre and cloud services. During his time at NTT he was also Regional General Manager across Central and Eastern Europe and was responsible for sales and marketing as well as network and data centre services. Jens has also held various roles at Interoute Germany, Completel, Manpower and RSLCOM Deutschland GmbH.
Jens is a German national and holds a BSC degree from Warner-Von-Siemens-Schule Frankfurt in Engineering. He represents Global Switch at the German Datacenter Association (GDA) and ECO, the largest association of the internet industry in Europe.
In his role as Managing Director, Frankfurt, Jens is responsible for managing our Frankfurt Campus, overseeing business development and maintaining a best in class operational environment. The Frankfurt campus offers around 29,000 sq m of space with 28MVA of utility power supply capacity, and is a key connectivity and cloud hub providing some of the world’s leading brands with access to DE-CIX, a wide range of international and regional carriers, ISPs and leading cloud providers.
