Phil joined Global Switch in 2022 as Critical Environments Director, Europe and was promoted to a new role, Group Director, Critical Environments. He brings 25 years’ experience managing mission critical operational sites and production facilities.
Prior to joining Global Switch Phil was Principal Engineering Authority at px Group, a leading asset management company for the energy and high hazard industrial sectors, where, leading the Engineering function across the group, he was responsible for ensuring engineering and operational risks were managed and for assuring adherence to international and national standards, processes and regulations. Earlier in his career Phil held senior leadership roles in, power generation and infrastructure management for Sembcorp, oil and gas and power generation for px Group, aluminium smelting for Rio Tinto, precious metal refining for Johnson Matthey and manufacturing for Avery Dennison.
Phil graduated from the University of Warwick with an honours degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Phil is responsible for providing strategic direction and clarity to the managers and employees, in all locations, with regards to Health and Safety, Operations and Critical Environments. He and his team use an Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement framework to ensure the safety and competencies of people, the safety and reliability of the data centre assets and the effectiveness and efficiency of systems and processes.
