Global Switch selected to host one of Europe’s largest NVIDIA Blackwell deployments in Paris

  • Global Switch to deploy a high-density infrastructure environment, harnessing the latest NVIDIA Blackwell architecture.
  • NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs are next-generation AI hardware, capable of powering the world’s most innovative businesses.
  • Global Switch’s Paris data centre provides a highly connected, NVIDIA DGX-Ready platform for AI, HPC and enterprise deployments.

Global Switch’s Paris data centre has been selected to host one of the biggest NVIDIA Blackwell deployments in Europe, supporting a suite of next-generation AI architecture that will deliver a five-times inference performance improvement on past models.

Paris is one of Europe’s key digital infrastructure hubs, benefiting from exceptional connectivity and access to some of Europe’s leading innovators – but, as demand continues to rise, power constraints have started to emerge. In Paris, Global Switch is a partner of choice for its ability to deliver scalable capacity at speed in a strategic location, powering businesses’ growth ambitions.

The Blackwell deployment will be majority liquid-cooled, hosted within Global Switch’s NVIDIA DGX-Ready data centre. The Paris site is powered by 100% renewable energy and is an approved participant in the European Code of Conduct for Energy Efficiency in Data Centres. This voluntary initiative, established by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre, seeks to improve energy efficiency in data centres by encouraging best practice and reducing environmental impact.

Alongside its customers, Global Switch is supporting France’s wider ambitions to expand sovereign AI capacity: enabling technology companies and enterprises to deploy and utilise critical compute infrastructure at scale.

Nicolas Duhamel, President at Global Switch France, said: “AI and high-performance compute customers require significant power, advanced cooling optionality and dense, resilient connectivity. This deployment demonstrates the strength of Global Switch as a platform for the next generation of AI businesses, powering the digital economies of the future.

“It also underlines the role that established, highly connected data centres can play in accelerating AI innovation at scale and in supporting France’s sovereign AI ambitions.”

Global Switch has also recently undertaken a heat-offtake agreement to power the district heating network in the city of Levallois-Perret, set for delivery in 2027, and soon set to be replicated in the city of Clichy. The projects are expected to significantly reduce heating costs for local residents and public buildings, while also reducing the networks’ environmental impacts.
